European Poker Tour Introduces Player of The Year Leaderboards for Season 11

The three-tiered system is based on Global Poker Index formula.

  • The European Poker Tour announced this week that it has implemented a three-tiered leaderboard system, based on the Global Poker Index formula, to determine its Players of the Year for Season 11.
  • The three tiers will encompass buy-ins of all levels and be designated as: Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Bitcoin Exchange Refuses Online Poker Transactions

Seals with Clubs player reports that top exchange Coinbase will not process gambling deposits.

  • A player at Seals With Clubs (SwC) has reported that Bitcoin exchange Coinbase has cancelled his access to their services after he made a deposit onto the Bitcoin only site.
  • Coinbase stated that it is “a regulated Money Service Business under the FinCEN division of the U.S. Treasury Department” and erroneously claimed that gambling “is illegal under US law.”
  • The player who reported the problem on Reddit was provided with plenty of advice for how to get around the restriction including using a BlockChain account and unlinking transactions.

Betsafe Signs World Series of Poker November Niner Felix Stephensen to its Roster

The Norwegian player becomes the latest WSOP Main Event Final Table participant to strike a sponsorship deal.

  • Betsafe, which serves the international non-US online poker market as part of the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN), recently signed World Series of Poker November Nine participant Felix Stephensen to its sponsored player roster.
  • Stephensen, who hails from Norway and is just 24 years of age, will enter WSOP Main Event final table action on November 10 with the second-largest stack of 32,775,000.
