Late in the day on Friday, PokerStars announced that starting in June it will be discontinuing all revenue share payments for players that signed up more than two years ago. That two-year window will also be applied to all new players signed up through affiliates going forward.

The impact of this decision on poker media outlets will be significant. One affiliate that did not want to be named, estimated that it may lose as much as 75% of its revenue as a result of the new policy.
