This Week in Poker Podcasts: April 5, 2013 This Week in Poker Podcasts: April 5, 2013

This week one of our favorite poker podcasts best known for its news reporting has made some news of its own: Rabbit Hunt is losing one of its co-hosts, Matt Kaufman. Though Matt was not prepared to disclose his new gig, Mark does mention during the course of the show that his partner will be joining a Las Vegas casino.

They also kept secret the identity of Matt’s replacement. The new mystery co-host will be joining the show next week as Matt moves from the co-host chair to a role as guest. Perhaps the new addition is a recent guest-host? Both Marco Valerio and Chris Grove have made appearances on the show in recent weeks. I am curious who the fans of the show would like to see fill the spot; drop me a line or leave a comment and let me know what you think.

As far as the show goes, there is some good discussion on the choice of “Ultimate Poker” as a brand name for a poker room. My personal opinion is that the number of people with a negative view of the name “Ultimate” is dwarfed by the number of people that will have a positive association with the name as a result of the marketing of the site through the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

I haven’t given this one a listen yet but Kristy Arnett is joined by Jason Sommerville to talk poker strategy on Strategy with Kristy. From what I’ve seen/heard from Jason, he communicates strategy well and his experience is pretty extensive. So for those of you that need your poker strategy fix, you will want to check this one out for sure.

Thinking Poker is pretty strategy-intensive this week. The guys fly without an actual guest this week, although the spirit of Tommy Angelo comes through in this episode as Andrew and Nate discuss his book Elements of Poker and Tommy provides the music for the show.
