Nitrogen Sports, one of the leading online Bitcoin sportsbooks, has announced that it will be offering online poker to its customers beginning Thursday, September 18.

The new poker offering will be integrated into the sports book and customers will have the option of playing poker for Bitcoins, or getting their feet wet in a social poker room play for play chips.

Software for both the Bitcoin and play chip poker rooms has been developed by Sweden-based Cubeia which, according to its website, also provides games to bwin and Microgaming and has had its accounting software licensed by Unibet. However, Nitrogen customers will play on the company’s own ring-fenced network competing against only players on its site.

Cubeia announced the launch of its social play poker network in April 2013, and in partnership with Indian firm Mirch Entertainment announced a real money poker network in India last October.

Customers will access the poker room via an HTML 5 application offering no limit, pot limit and fixed limit Texas Hold’em. Cash games, sit and gos and multi-table tournaments will be offered. The software also has the ability to accommodate rebuy tournaments.

“It’s clear to us that online gambling would hugely benefit from embracing bitcoin, the biggest benefits being instant transactions, low transaction costs, anonymity, and security,” a company representative stated in the press release. “Additionally, we have an incredible support staff and will be enforcing a strict anti-collusion policy. We’re already the most trusted bitcoin sportsbook, and we will be maintaining our reputation as a safe and secure place to bet,” pokerfuse was told.

Nitrogen joins a growing list of Bitcoin-only poker rooms including industry leader Seals with Clubs and Betcoin Poker who recently partnered with the Winning Poker Network (WPN) to integrate its customers into the WPN’s sit and gos and multi-table tournaments. Traditional online poker rooms have also begun accepting Bitcoins as payment including independent poker room Switch Poker and WinPoker.com on the Ipoker network.
