Results for the third quarter from Playtech show an unexpected but welcome increase in revenues from its online poker business.

A revenue gain of 3.1% from €3.2 million to €3.3 million may not sound dramatic, but previous reports over the last couple of years have repeatedly shown declines. In the first quarter of 2013, Bingo revenues exceeded those from poker for the first time—and poker revenues were 33% higher then than now.

“The strong growth seen through the first half continued through the third quarter resulting in the strongest-ever quarterly performance,” said Mor Weizer, Playtech’s CEO.
