After a brief ambassadorship in 2015, one of the world’s most recognizable, successful and influential athletes is promoting PokerStars again.

Global online gaming giant PokerStars has signed a new deal with Neymar Jr. to promote the company’s global brand.

It is not immediately clear what role Neymar will take—the operator did not identify the Neymar Jr. as a brand ambassador—but it was stated that he was a “perfect fit for PokerStars” who would “bring his flair and personality to the online and live tables, as well as to the PokerStars community across the world.”

PokerStars is developing a new version of its Spin and Go game, Flash, and is progressing towards launching a new variant dubbed Swap Hold’em.

Pokerfuse first revealed the existence of Spin and Go Flash last Friday. Beyond the name and the iconography—a thunderbolt through the “s” of the Flash, and an “electrified” table theme—no further information on how this game will be played has been revealed.

As the big operators reassess their approach to third party tools, Run it Once quietly enables automatic hand histories—though HUDs remain prohibited and hand histories are anonymous.

Run it Once Poker is trialing the automatic saving of hand histories to the hard drive, allowing players to review their hands after-the-fact and analyze their play and track their profit and loss in third-party tools.

The move comes during a time where the industry is taking a fresh look at the issue of hand histories and how they interface with third-party software. Partypoker recently stopped saving all hand histories to the hard drive; MPN went the other way and, on the same day, reinstated them.
